Closed Fibroid Surgery

Closed fibroid surgery is a fibroid removal operation performed using a camera and surgical instruments through small 5-10 mm incisions instead of the large abdominal incision used in traditional open surgery. It is performed using laparoscopic or robotic surgical techniques.

Advantages of closed fibroid surgery compared to open surgery:

- Smaller incisions (5-10 mm)

Closed fibroid surgery is performed under general anesthesia. A camera and surgical instruments are placed through trocars inserted in the abdominal area. The fibroid is carefully separated from the uterine wall and removed. The uterine wall is sutured in layers.

Surgery duration varies from 1-3 hours depending on the size and number of fibroids. Usually 1 night in the hospital is sufficient.
