Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the cells of the cervix. It is one of the most common cancers in women worldwide. HPV (Human Papillomavirus) infection is the most important cause of cervical cancer.

Early diagnosis is possible through regular screening (smear test and HPV test), and the treatment success rate for cervical cancer detected at an early stage is above 90%.

Treatment Approach

Treatment is planned according to the stage of cancer:

- Stage 0 (Carcinoma in situ): Treatment with conization or LEEP

  • Stage I: Radical hysterectomy and lymph node dissection

  • Stage II: Chemoradiotherapy ± surgery

  • Stage III-IV: Chemoradiotherapy
