HIPEC is a heated chemotherapy method applied after surgery for cancers that have spread within the abdomen.

What is HIPEC?

HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) is the direct application of heated chemotherapy drug into the abdominal cavity after cytoreductive surgery.

The chemotherapy drug is heated to 41-43°C and administered into the abdominal cavity. Heat increases the effectiveness of the chemotherapy drug and destroys cancer cells more effectively.

    How long does HIPEC surgery take?+
    Combined with cytoreductive surgery, it can take 6-12 hours total. The HIPEC application itself takes approximately 60-90 minutes.
